PROGRAM "OFFICER IN CHARGE OF NAVIGATIONAL WATCH"


Program of studies “Officer in charge of navigational watch” is the first level of higher professional education program, which is developed satisfying all the requirements of International Convention “Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW)” with all latest amendments.

The duration of studies is 3 years and 2 months, part-time studies, which is held in English language.

Every student has their own individual study plan, taking into account the student’s on-board work schedule. To work at sea - is the requirements to graduate the educational program.

The tuition fee for the whole period of 3 years constitutes 5880 Euro. The tuition fee can be divided into three parts – 1960 Euro per year.

Graduating the college the student acquires LR first level higher professional education diploma with the qualification of „ Officer in charge of an navigational watch on ships of 500GT or more”.

Educational program includes the following subjects.

The tuition fee includes all necessary study materials and  necessary basic courses („refresh” courses are not included):

  1. Radar Navigation, Radar Plotting and Use of ARPA at Operational Level;
  2. Operational use of Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS);
  3. Bridge resource management (including: Leadership and managerial skill);
  4. GMDSS General Operator;
  5. Basic Safety Training;
  6. Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats;
  7. Advanced Fire Fighting;
  8. Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties;
  9. Medical First Aid.
